In Reiki, it is believed life energy flows through everything and everyone. This life energy can be
transferred through our bodies for healing and rejuvenation. A Reiki practitioner uses his/her hands to transfer the positive energy.
Reiki session should be held in a peaceful setting. The patient should either sit on a chair or
lie down on the floor. The practitioner then places his hands on or over different parts of body for the transfer of energy
to take place.
Practitioner feels either tingling or warm sensation in his hands, signaling the blockage in the
particular body area of the patient. Practitioner keeps the hand over the area for 2-3 minutes for the negativity to dissipate.
Once the hands begin to return to normalcy, practitioner removes their hand.
Techniques like centering, clearing, beaming, infusing, and smoothing and raking the aura
are used during the process of Reiki. A session can last between 15 to 90 minutes.
